Gov Cuomo Announces $43 Million to Help With Lakeshore Flooding

Oswego, N.Y. - Gov. Andrew Cuomo was in Oswego today to announce that Cayuga and Oswego counties will receive $43 million to fund 31 projects in hopes of protecting and strengthening Lake Ontario shoreline.

Local governments will have to match five percent of the $43 million from the State.

Mayor Billy Barlow says the city of Oswego has secured $12.6 million of that fund.

Cuomo said waiting for the IJC to fix the situation would be a "fool's errand".

New York is suing the International Joint Commission (IJC) over its regulation of water levels on Lake Ontario that have caused flooding twice in the last three years
