Disturbing New Details Revealed About Accused Parkway Hit-And-Run Driver

Syracuse, N.Y. - Police are sharing more about the man accused of being the deadly hit-and-run driver on the Onondaga Lake Parkway.

Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies say Michael Ziemba is accused of hitting and killing Jason Quackenbush on Onondaga Lake Parkway earlier this month, and then fleeing the scene. Officials say he stripped his Nissan Altima of its registration stickers and other identification information before hiding it in a warehouse near Carrier Circle.

Court documents show that Ziemba admitted to being high on marijuana when he seriously hurt a woman in a crash in 1997 in North Syracuse near the Taft Rd on-ramp to I-81.

Ziemba was taken into custody Monday afternoon.
