Oswego Lawmakers Set To Vote On Partial Tobacco and Styrofoam Ban

Oswego, N.Y. - A vote will be held today banning styrofoam containers in the City of Oswego.

The partial ban will apply only to City property and parks. The "Keep Oswego Clean" initiative proposed by Mayor Billy Barlow will also ban smoking, vaping, and tobacco use.

Barlow says the fine for littering will also jump to $200. The number of trashcans downtown and in City parks would be doubled.

One last meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. before a vote on the proposal at 7:30 p.m.
