A text exchange caught by the mother of a 13-year-old girl led to state police arresting a Minoa man on multiple child sex charged.
Troopers accuse Trystan Chartier of trying to meet up with the teen for sex. The teen's mother noticed a social media app conversation begun by Chartier on a shared phone. The mother pretended to be her daughter and agreed to meet Chartier at a local market in Dewitt. When Chartier arrived, the mother confronted him and flagged down a trooper for assistance. After Chartier's arrest, troopers learned he had smoked marijuana and had prior sexual contact with the teen. Chartier is charged with sex abuse, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
