Man Pulls Up to Police Station With Body in Car, Admits to Killing 4 People

A Northern California man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday after he pulled up to a Mt. Shasta police station with a body in his car and told authorities he'd killed four people.

According to a press release from the Mount Shasta Police Department, the suspect walked into the lobby of the police station Monday afternoon and told the officer on duty that he'd murdered four people at his apartment in Roseville, California, which is located about 200 miles south of Mount Shasta and 20 miles east of Sacramento.

The suspect then told police one of his victims was currently in his car. Police went out to the suspect's car and confirmed there was a dead body in there. Police then detained the man and notified Roseville Police who dispatched a unit to the suspect's condo. There, police discovered another three victims, who were declared deceased at the scene.

"Identification has not been made for the suspect or any of the involved victims," the release from the Mt. Shasta Police Department stated "At this time, we believe the suspect and victims are known to each other."

Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community, nor do they believe it was a random act of violence. Search warrants are currently being obtained for the condo in Roseville and for the scene in Mount Shasta.

Roseville Police Department Captain Josh Simon said in a Monday news conference that the killings will likely take a toll on the Roseville community.

“This can really have an effect on all our first responders and people who may or may not know these victims. So this is a very heavy impact to our community,” Simon said.

The suspect was not identified by police, nor were his victims. The Roseville Police Department is leading the investigation.

No further details have been released.
