Bus Garage To Be Built In Salina As Opposed To Cicero

Salina, N.Y. - A proposal to build a garage in Cicero for school buses that transport 11,000 Syracuse students each day has been dropped, county officials announced yesterday.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon says instead, the county and developer announced a proposal to move the facility to 2001 LeMoyne Ave. in Salina. The property is just outside the city of Syracuse, near the intersection of Factory Avenue.

There had been much opposition to putting the garage in Cicero.
