Nassau County Woman Leads New York State Troopers On High Speed Chase

Watertown, N.Y. - A Nassau county woman has been arrested after leading State Troopers on a high speed chase.

Monday afternoon around 4, Troopers tried to pull over 31 year old Siobhan Smith, of Rockville Center, on 81 North for going 92 miles an hour. She refused to stop, at one time going 106 miles an hour. The pursuit was stopped due to safety concerns.

Shortly thereafter, the suspect vehicle was spotted at a gas pump in the town of Alexandria Bay and she was taken into custody.

She was involved in a similar pursuit about an hour earlier in Onondaga County.

Smith is charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Reckless Driving and several other traffic violations in three different townships.
