State Police Make An Arrest In Mattydale Stabbings

Mattydale, N.Y. - State Police have made an arrest in two stabbings that took place in Mattydale yesterday.

Troopers say 29 year old James Ellis of Salina got into an argument with two women, a 17 and a 41 year old.

The 17 year old was stabbed multiple times by Ellis and fled the house on Roxboro Circle.

An off duty deputy spotted a man changing his clothes in a parking lot, and identified him as the suspect in the stabbing. Police discovered that Ellis had also choked and threatened with the knife the 41 year old woman, as well.

She was treated at the scene and the 17 year old was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Ellis faces the following charges:

  • Assault 2nddegree
  • (2) counts of Menacing 2nddegree
  • Criminal Possession of a weapon 4thdegree
  • (2) counts of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing

He was processed at State Police barracks, North Syracuse and transported to the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office for centralized arraignment.
