Sen. Gillibrand Drops Out Of White House Race; Cuomo, Trump React

Washington, DC - Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has ended her presidential campaign.

Gillibrand failed to gain traction in the crowded field of Democratic candidates, falling short of the criteria to qualify for the third Democratic presidential debate. The New York Democrat said in a video that this wasn't the result she hoped for, adding that it's important to quote "know when it's not your time."

In a statement, Governor Cuomo called Gillibrand a rising star in the Democratic Party and a good friend before saying the people of New York are fortunate to have her back full time.

President Trump is poking fun at Senator Kirsten Gillibrand dropping out of the Democratic presidential race.

The New York Democrat said she will now commit her efforts to making sure President Trump is defeated in 2020.

Gillibrand failed to qualify for next month's Democratic presidential debate, falling short of both polling and donor qualifications.
