State Police Share New Information About Trooper-Involved Shooting

Hastings, N.Y. - State Police are investigating a trooper-involved shooting in Oswego County.

Officials say the incident started yesterday with a stolen vehicle complaint on State Route 49 in Hastings. When a trooper found that vehicle, there was a 25-year-old man inside. That man resisted arrest and went into a home, and moments later pointed what appeared to be a gun at police. A trooper opened fire, hitting that man several times.

The suspect was taken to the hospital where he's in serious condition following surgery.

State Police haven't released the names of anyone involved.
