Syracuse, N.Y. - State Police are investigating a deadly crash on the Thruway between Chittenango and Kirkville around 1 a.m. this morining.
A car was stopped in the driving lane westbound and 2 of the three passengers, 21-year- old James Bowen and 24-year-old Grace Wilson both of Syracuse, were out of the car standing in the middle of the road, when they were struck by a tractor trailer traveling in the passing lane.
The two, were taken to Upstate University Hospital where Wilson was pronounced dead . Bowen is listed in critical condition.
The tractor trialer driver, Kenneth Finn, 37 of Geneva N.Y., and the passenger who remained in the car were uninjured.
State Police are continuing their investigation.
A portion of the Thruway was shut down after the crash but all lanes reopened just after 5 a.m.
State Police have not released any names and are contiuing their investigation.
