Woman Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter In Sodus Murders, Avoids Trial

Lyons, N.Y. - IN a sudden turn of events, a woman charged in connection to a double murder in Sodus has accepted a plea deal.

Charlene Childers appeared in Wayne County Court where she agreed to plead guilty to first-degree manslaughter and a weapons charge in connection to the deaths of her ex Joshua Niles and his fiance` Amber Washburn. Niles and Washburn were shot dead in the driveway of their home in October by Childers' husband, Timothy Dean. Dean faces murder charges when his trial starts in May.

Childers was expected to stand trial along with Dean, however the plea means means Childers will avoid a trial.

Childers will be sentenced on June 27.
