Wrong-Way Car Chase On 690 Leads To Crash, DWI Arrest

A wrong-way chase with a Syracuse man led to a crash on 690 and an DWI arrest.

State police got the call around 4:30 Sunday morning about a wrong-way driver going westbound on 690 Eastbound. Troopers also learned the SUV's headlights were off as it approached the 81 interchange. After a brief chase, the SUV hit a guardrail near Thompson Road. Police say Jeffrey Letson of Syracuse was unhurt in the crash. After his arrest, Letson's blood alcohol content was 0.15% - nearly double the legal limit. Letson is in custody and face several other charges.
