Man Who Lead Police On A Chase In A Tow Truck Sentenced

Syracuse, N.Y. - The man who lead police on a chase in a stolen tow truck has been sentenced.

Christopher Ricks will spend 24 years behind bars. In November of 2017 he lead police on a chase through Syracuse. 4 people were injuried including 3 police officers. Several vehicles were struck and police fired their weapons, at four separate scenes attempting to stop Ricks and the tow truck.

Ricks allegedly put the tow truck into reverse to intentionally ram into his pursuers.

He later told investigators he had been having a "hard time" since leaving the Onondaga County Justice Center in 2016.

In all, there was $50,000 worth of damage to police vehicles and other cars.
