Washington, D.C. - A Fort Dum soldier will posthumously receive the Medal Of Honor.
The White House announced Staff Sgt. Travis W. Atkins from the 10th Mountain Division will recieve the highest honor for his act of valor.
SSGT Atkins is credited with saving the lives of three soldiers in Iraq in 2007, when he threw a suicide bomber on the ground and fell on top of him.
Atkins, who was 31 at the time is from Bozeman, Montana but was based at Ft. Drum.
The presentation will be March 27.
