More Anger In West Genny: 21-Year-Old Stranger Allowed To Ride School Bus

Camillus, N.Y. - A 21-year-old stranger was allowed to ride on a school bus full West Genesee Middle Schoolers Thirsday morning.

In a letter to parents, Interim Superintendent Michael Schiedo wrote that the 21-year-old man was waiting at the bus stop and said that he was a new student and that he wanted to register to finish school. The bus driver called their boss to get direction and the decision was made to allow the person to board the bus.

No children were harmed.

Schiedo says that bus drivers recently received safety training but are considering retraining drivers and transportation staff. He also promised to take any steps necessary to ensure this does not happen again.

Camillus Police say they are treating this as a mental health situation.
