Trump Blasts New NY Abortion Law In State Of The Union

Washington, DC - President Trump uses his State of the Union address to criticize New York's new abortion law.

Last night, he spoke out against lawmakers who cheered when the legislation boosting abortion rights was passed last month. Trump claimed the bill allowed a baby to be "ripped from its mother's womb" moments before birth.

He also called on Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill banning abortions during the third-trimester. The measure would likely not gain traction in the Democratically controlled House of Representatives.

State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins released a statement, saying President Trump is using lies and fear mongering to destroy protections for women's health.
