Onondaga, N.Y. - Town supervisors in Onondaga County say they're on the same page when it comes to replacing Interstate 81.
Yesterday, they announced support for a plan that would put a tunnel in Syracuse. But, the state DOT says that option would cost billions of dollars. Another idea is to replace the highway with a boulevard and route traffic onto what is currently Interstate 481.
A third proposal calls for I-81 to be replaced with a similar version of the current layout.
Thursday night, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh continued to stand in support of the boulevard option.
