George H. W. Bush Memorial Services Likely To Delay Shutdown Deadline

Memorial services for former President George H.W. Bush are likely to push back the funding deadline that threatens to partly shutdown the federal government.  Louisiana Republican Senator John N. Kennedy feels both sides can come to an agreement, especially if it includes funding for a border wall. The deadline is Friday, at the end of a week when government officials will attend services for the 41st president in Washington and Texas.  President Donald Trump told reporters traveling with him from the G20 summit in Argentina that he's open to an extension of as long as two weeks.  Trump said if members of Congress ask him to approve extending the deadline he would "absolutely consider it and probably give it."
