Three Arrested For Scamming Money From A Child Dying From Cancer

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office have arrested  3 people  for participating in a scam to steal money from a 6 year old girl dying from Cancer. 

Police say the three from Oswego County are accused of going door-to-door to scam residents out of money utilizing a photo of six year Kaylee Marshfield of Geddes. 

Kaylee was diagnosed last year with stage three Wilms Disease. A few weeks ago, the parents reported that their daughter’s picture was being used in a scam.

The suspects solicited money from neighborhoods in the area of Bridgeport, Onondaga Hill, Liverpool and the City of Syracuse, receiving hundreds of dollars.

Detectives have charged Roger Dunn, 44,  Nicole Dunn,  34,  both of Central Square and Earl Woodridge, 27 of Parish with scheme to defraud in the 1st degree, criminal impersonation 2nd degree and one count of attempted scheme to defraud in the 1st degree. 

All three are being held at the Justice Center awaiting arraignment.
