New Poll: CNYers Settled With Katko; Unsettled With Trump

Syracuse, N.Y. - A new poll shows Congressman John Katko with a solid lead in the 24th Congressional District race.

According to Siena College, the incumbent Republican has a 14 point lead over his Democratic challenger Dana Balter.  That's roughly the same margin from a previous survey in August.  Balter has a nearly 40 point lead in Syracuse, but trails by a large margin in the rest of the district.

People across Central New York are split on President Trump's job performance. 48 percent of people approve of the job he's doing.  That's the exact same percentage of folks who say they disapprove.  The president's approval number is up slightly since August.

Back in 2016, Trump won most of the counties in the region, with the exception of Onondaga and Tompkins.
