Rome, N.Y. - Oneida County Sheriff's and Rome City Police have arrested a man for having sex with a n underage girl.
Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Mark R. Chrysler began the investigation in July of 2018, and learned that the crime occurred earlier that same month.
After a 4 month investigation, Joshua J. Sherman, age 26 of Rome was arrested and charged with Rape for having sex with a 15 year old girl.
He was arrested without incident and is in Rome City jail waiting his arraignment.
An order of protection was issued to protect the victim, who has also been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
