State And Fed Reach Deal Over Thruway Signs

Albany, N.Y. - The State has reached a deal with the Feds over those blue I Love New York signs along the Thruway.

The deal restores 14-million dollars in federal highway funds that were going to be withheld for illegally putting up the signs five years ago.

The more than 500 signs will remain up, and it is unclear if or when the signs will come down.

The agreement restores the money that the State was going to lose in the Federal Fiscal year, which begins Monday.
