Former Jail Deputy Sentenced In 1997 Solvay Sodomy

Solvay, N.Y. - A former Onondaga County jail deputy has been sentenced for a for a 1997 Solvay Sodomy.

Jack Doolittle pleaded guilty last month to sodomizing a 12-year-old Solvay girl near the Hazard Street Middle School more than 20-years-ago. Prosecutors say Doolittle grabbed the 12-year-old girl off a path while she was on her way to school, bound her with duct tape, dragged her to a secluded area and forced her to perform a sexual act.

Doolittle was already in custody when investigators linked him to the 1997 incident using DNA evidence.

He was sentenced on Monday to 10 to 20 years in prison.
