8 Y/O Shot In Syracuse Mass Shooting; Half Dozen Hurt In Pair Of Shootings

Syracuse, N.Y. - A young girl and her family were shot in a mass shooting on Syracuse's South Side.

Most of the carnage happened on Midland Avenue just about 9 o'clock. About two dozen people were gathered at that Midland Ave home to remember someone who had recently died of cancer.  A witness claims that men wearing hoodies opened fire on the celebration from across the street. Police are not confirming that.

Syracuse Police officers say that five people had been shot there ranging from 8 to 35 years old.

Later that same hour, and a few blocks away, a teenager was shot in her backside on Furman Street.

All six victims from the shootings last night are in stable condition at this time.
