Onondaga Sheriffs Make Arrest In Fatal July 4th Stabbing

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Sheriffs have made an arrest in the July 4th stabbing death of Maurice Crawford.

Crawford was stabbed while attending a gathering at the Mckinley Ridge West Pavilion at Oneida Shores park. He was taken to the Hospital where he died. 

Deputies have arrested 24 year old Joe Washington of Syracuse and charged him with murder in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree

Onondaga County Sheriffs say Washington had fled to Belleville Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, where he was arrested on an unrelated warrant. He was transported back to Syracuse and was charged with the murder of Maurice Crawford.

He was denied bail and remains in the County Jail.
