New Hartford Psychiatrist Pleads Not Guilty To Sex Abuse Charges

New Hartford, N.Y. -  A New Hartford psychiatrist who was acquitted on sexual abuse charges in June has pleaded not guilty to new charges.

Dr. Surendra Johri was in a Utica City Court yesterday and there he pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charges of sexual abuse and forcible touching.

Johri is accused of touching a female patient sexually back in 2017 when he was working as a psychiatrist at Community Health Behavioral Services in Utica.

Oneida County District Attorney’s Office offered a plea deal for Johri to plead guilty to all of the charges and allow the Judge to pronounce the  sentence.

Johri rejected the offer on the spot.
