Sales tax revenue is up in Onondaga County. County executive Joanie Mahoney announced that sales tax revenue is up 8% when compared to the same time last year.
This represents an increase of $9.3 million. Mahoney said the latest numbers are great news and further proof that the local economy is growing. She said it also shows the importance of investments like the U.S. Bowling Congress, St. Joe’s Amp, Greater Syracuse Soundstage and Jazz in the City.
The increase means the City will receive an additional $3,000,000 as compared to last year. These additional funds will help the City make investments in their infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for everyone.
