Liverpool Woman Sues Restaurant For Serving Retired Fire Chief

A Liverpool woman is suing a North Side restaurant for serving a former city fire chief alcohol before a fatal February 2017 crash. Retired fire chief 70 year old  Robert J. Nelson, was killed when he crossed over into another lane and struck the car of 24 year old Sueria Ashkar. She survived but suffered what is being called "severe internal and external injuries and shock"  according to the lawsuit. She is looking to sue Attilio's Restaurant on North Salina St., for serving Nelson to the point where his BAC was .23 nearly three times the legal limit.  It is illegal for a bar to  serve a person that they know to be drunk.
