Twelve people were taken to the hospital Monday with minor injuries after a driver lost control of his vehicle, hitting two other cars and a stone post, before coming to rest on the DeWitt service plaza sidewalk around 3pm. 76 year old James Katz, of Monsey, NY was headed east when he lost control of his Toyota sedan. Troopers ticketed Katz for moving from lane unsafely, driving on the shoulder of a controlled access highway and driving on the sidewalk.
