Police Find 1,220 Doses Of Cocaine In Car

On Thursday, July 12, 2018, at approximately 7:47pm, Syracuse Police Officers David Craw and GM Giarrusso conducted a vehicle and traffic stop, of a white Toyota Camry, in the 100 block of Lexington Ave. The vehicle was being operated by Lakey McCray, 36, of Syracuse. While Officer Giarrusso was speaking with McCray, he became uncooperative with the officers and their investigation. Officers observed pieces of crack cocaine on the front passenger’s seat of the vehicle. McCray was taken into custody without incident. Upon further investigation, police located 122 grams of cocaine inside McCray’s vehicle. 122 grams of cocaine is equivalent to 1,220 doses and has a street value of $12,200.00. McCray was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second, Third and Seventh Degrees. He was also issued Uniformed Traffic Tickets for Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions. McCray was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
