Congresswoman Secures $369K For Griffiss International Airport

Washington, DC—Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) announced Wednesday that she helped secure $369,000 in grants for Griffiss International Airport. The federal funds will be used for reconstruction of the runway. The funding is awarded through a grant allocated by the Department of Transportation (DOT).

“As an important regional asset, Griffiss International Airport has been a key contributor in helping to grow our local economy in the Utica-Rome area. The additional $369,000 in federal grants I assisted in securing will allow Griffiss to upgrade outdated infrastructure to better serve the aviation needs of Mohawk Valley,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney. “I will continue my strong advocacy and continue to deliver the resources our region needs to repair and upgrade our outdated infrastructure."

This money is in addition to the $7,575,000 Rep. Tenney secured in June 2018. The Congresswoman was also critical in securing $338,581 in federal dollars for reconstruction and modernization of outdated infrastructure at Griffiss International Airport.
