The Wheatleys Spent Independence Day Campaigning

It was a banner Independence Day for the Wheatley family. Tony-boy sat forward facing in a car for the second time in his life, unrestrained by a five-point harness!

He was crawling along, for a little while, in a parade vehicle. He eventually wanted to get out.

We were out parading for my father-in-law, Judge Chris Ciaccio. He is running for State Supreme Court in the 7th Judicial District. It's a district that covers the areas between Rochester to the West, and Auburn to the East.

I won't ask you to vote for him in November; asking that would violate some journalism ethics. If you did happen to vote for him though, know that I would appreciate it. He is a fair-minded judge and a good and honest man.

He is currently a highly regarded Judge in Monroe County.

A judge has changed his mind and now won't release a man accused of tampering with evidence after his girlfriend died of an overdose.

We made a few other stops. We saw my parents before heading out to our second parade of the day. From there, we stopped and visited a big Independence Day party that friends of ours do every year.

It was a wonderful day, though a far cry from the poolside day I had been anticipating.
