The Top 5 For Wednesday 6/27/18 - Whoa, Brianna!!

Dana Balter easily defeats Juanita Perez Williams, and our own Brianna Stewart is even hotter than the coming heat wave...

Here's an interesting selection of the Top 5 Things You Need To Know Today for Wednesday, 6/27/2018:

1)

POTUS SCORES A LEGAL VICTORY IN THE SUPREME COURT

With a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court upheld President Trump's travel ban on arrivals from predominantly Muslim countries. Chief Justice John Roberts said it's essentially a national security issue, and the POTUS has the authority to issue such orders.

2)

DANA BALTER WINS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY OVER JUANITA PEREZ WILLIAMS

The SU professor and activist defeated her opponent easily, and she will now go on to challenge incumbent GOP Congressman John Katko in November. The 24th District has bounced back-and-forth between parties many times, so who knows?

3)

A HUGE SURPRISE IN NEW YORK'S 14th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upsets establishment Democrat Joe Crowley. She's 28 (the minimum age to serve is 25), a very liberal "democratic socialist." He's been in the House for two decades and was destined for a leadership position. Go figure.

4)

BRIANNA STEWART SHOWS IT OFF IN ESPN MAGAZINE'S "THE BODY ISSUE"

Now playing pro ball, the former Cicero-North Syracuse star poses nude in the annual issue that features many prominent male and female athletes. Yes, I've seen the advance pictures. Yes, she looks really good. No, I can't post them here.

Meanwhile, speaking of hot...

5)

THE HEAT IS COMING, BIG TIME. THE WEEKEND WILL BE A SCORCHER.

Syracuse might break the weather records set in the 1931 heat wave. We'll be pushing 100 on Sunday, and AccuWeather's "RealFeel" temperature index will be well above that. Expect serious heat warnings and heat advisories to be issued.
