Police Make Arrest In Burglary Investigation

On  Thursday, June 21, 2018, at approximately 3:09pm, Syracuse Police  responded to 469 James Street, in regards to a burglary investigation.   Upon arrival, officers  observed the victim restraining the suspect, Terence Kelly, 46, of  Syracuse.  Kelly was sweating profusely and not responding  appropriately.  He was taken into custody without incident.

The victim reported he had observed Kelly screaming in the parking  lot of the apartment complex. A female  had told the victim, Kelly had smoked something.  As the victim  returned to his apartment, Kelly pushed past him and entered the  victim’s apartment.  Kelly then began to fight with the victim.  During  the altercation, Kelly was swinging a pocket knife at the  victim.  The victim sustained a number of lacerations to his hand.  

Kelly was arrested and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal  Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.  He was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
