The Syracuse University fraternity members charged with creating an offensive videos have received suspensions.
Gregory Germain, a Syracuse law professor who had been advising students said the suspensions range from 1 to 2 years. The students were found of harassment but not guilty of charges of causing physical harm or threatening violence or possession of alcohol.
One of the students has received a letter telling him he is banned from campus and if he wishes to return after serving his suspension, he must do 160 hours of community service, reapply, read three books on inclusion and write a personal statement. Members have until 5pm today to appeal.
