Case Dropped Against Man Accused Of Involvement in 2014 Bus Crash

A judge dismissed a nearly four-year-old case against a man accused of driving drunk and causing a bus to crash on Route 81 in Nedrow.

A Pine Hill Trailways bus hit an abandoned vehicle on the highway in November of 2014, causing numerous injuries and sending the bus driver to the hospital in critical condition.  Robert Tarbell, the driver of the abandoned car, was indicted on assault and DWI charges based on statements that he'd been drinking and left his car on the highway.  But a judge later ruled Tarbell's statement had to be suppressed because he hadn't been read his Miranda rights.

Prosecutors argued the case all the way to the state's highest court, who refused to hear it.  Judge Stephen Dougherty dismissed the case against Tarbell Tuesday morning.
