Japan reportedly plans to buy 20 more F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin. The fighter jets will be completely built in the U.S. The 20 jets are on top of Japan's previous order for 42 of the state of the art manned fighters. These additional jets would be assembled in the U.S. instead of at an assembly plant in Japan. It will save the Japanese government about $30,000,000 per air frame to buy each completed $100,000,000 plane directly from the U.S.
That's good news for folks in Texas, since the F-35 is manufactured in Lockheed Martin's Fort Worth plant.
