Lackawanna Man Admits He Tried To Help ISIS

Lackawanna, N.Y. - There may be something in the water in Lackawanna, New York.

Arafat Nagi admitted that he traveled to Turkey in an attempt to join the Islamic State group. He's plead guilty to attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization.  The 47-year-old Lackawanna man faces up to 15 years in prison when he's sentenced in May.Prosecutors say Nagi traveled to Turkey in 2012 and 2014 with the intent to meet members of ISIS.  He was planning a third trip when he was arrested.

Lakawanna is the same city where six Yemeni-Americans were from who were convicted of providing material support to Al-Qaeda in December 2003. They had all attending an Al Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan together in the Spring of 2001.
