State, COR, Settle Over Unpaid Rent At Film Hub

DeWitt, N.Y. - Fayetteville's COR Development has reached a settlement with the State for unpaid rent at the Central New York Film Hub in DeWitt.

COR had sued the state-owned nonprofit that hired COR to build the 52,000-square-foot facility. The 10.6 million dollar facility opened fur business in August 2015 but the hopes of generating a local film industry haven't panned out. COR officials say the state owed $831,000 in rent, penalties and unpaid property taxes.

Meanwhile, the film hub finds itself still a part of a federal pay-to-play and bid-rigging case involving COR executives Steven Aiello and Joseph Gerardi and Governor Andrew Cuomo's former executive deputy secretary Joseph Percoco.
