Woman Seriously Hurt In Shooting Dies


A woman who was in serious condition after being shot October 29th has died from her injuries.

Syracuse police found the woman, identified as 20-year-old Jamia Singleton of Syracuse, who had been shot in the face on Glenwood Avenue.  Singleton remained hospitalized since the shooting but died November 28th.  Police arrested Jheezzmearrr (JEEZ-marr) Thompson November 3rd and charged him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon in Singleton's shooting.  But the results of an autopsy to determine Singleton's cause of death and if the shooting directly caused her death is not yet available.  Meanwhile, Thompson remains in custody at the Justice Center.
