Woman Killed In Carrier Circle Was A Victim Of Domestic Violence

East Syracuse, N.Y. - A man has been arrested for stabbing a 61-year-old woman to death outside a hotel in Carrier Circle.

Keith Lobdell is accused of murdering Rena Tindell at the Motel 6 early Tuesday morning. Deputies say the pair had been engaged in a pattern of domestic violence for months since May.

Lobdel was charged by the State Police on May 12th accused of pushing Tindell to the ground causing her to fracture her arm. She was beaten throughout the night and sexually assaulted. On May 30th, Lobdell was released from custody. The following day he returned to Tindell’s home where he committed another violent domestic.

Lobdel had been being held at the Justice Center until posting bail on Nov. 3rd. Sheriff Gene Conway says that Tindell had paid the $200,000 bail.

After stabbing Tindell Deputies say that Lobdell fled the Motel with her car. He was arrested in Syracuse Tuesday afternoon. He has been arraigned on Murder Charges in the Town of DeWitt and denied bail.
