Onondaga Legislature Agrees To Settlement in Teen's Death

Seth Collier

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Onondaga County Legislature has agreed to a settlement with the family of a teen killed by an employee of the DA in a County Owned Car.

The legislature voted to approve a $150,000 settlement with the family of Seth Collier.  Collier was left for dead after he was hit by a county owned car being driven by Peter Rauch. Rauch worked as an investigator in the District attorney’s office at the time of the crash and was a part-time Liverpool Police Officer.  The 18-year-old Collier died a few days after the incident after being removed off life support.

Rauch plead guilty in September to vehicular manslaughter and to leaving the scene of a fatal accident. He admitted he was drunk at the time of the crash.

Rauch is scheduled to be sentenced a week from Friday.
