A Verona woman faces felony DWI charges after driving under the influence Wednesday night with children in her vehicle.
State police report that a trooper stopped a PT Cruiser in the village of Verona at 9:30pm that was swerving across the center line and into oncoming traffic. After administering a field sobiriety test when the trooper smelled alcohol, Jacqueline Gamel was arrested for DWI. The trooper noted that Gamel had two children, aged 3 and 7 in the vehicle at the time. Gamel later took a breathalizer test that found she had a blood alcohol level of point 11 percent. Gamel was charged with felony aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law. Gamel is in custody, awaiting arraignment.
