Salina Man Posed As Teen To Get Sexually Explilcit Photos of Children

A Salina man has pled guilty to child exploitation charges accusing him of recording children in sexually explicit acts from 2014 through 2016.

Federal prosecutors say that 28-year-old Charles Poltenson admitted to using the Skype video application to first chat with a number of female children online.  Poltensen told prosecutors he was then able to persuade girls between the ages of 10 and 15 to engage in sexual explicit content for him by telling these girls he was 16 years old.  Poltensen will be sentenced April 13 and can expect a sentence of between 15 and 30 years in prison for each count, plus at least 5 years of supervised release.  In addition, Poltenson will be required to register as a sex offender.
