State Fair Day 1: Changes To The Milk Bar

Geddes, N.Y. - The ribbon will be cut this morning on the Great New York State Fair for it's 13 day run. This is known as preview day and admission is just $1.

At Chevy Court today, the first show at 2:00 p.m. will feature Robert Randolph and the family Band and then at 8:00 p.m. Three Doors Down will take to the stage.

"Fair" might be a good way to describe the weather that fairgoers can expect.  570 WSYR Meteorologist Bob Larson says conditions will be much cooler from Tuesday's hot and humid day.  Bob says we can expect a mix of sun and clouds with a slight chance of a rain shower.

There has been an important procedural change about how you will be getting our 25-cent cup of Milk at the Fair this year.

In years past, you would stand in line to buy tickets at the Milk Bar.  But new this year you will need to use a token to get your Milk. To get a token you'll take your quarters and cash and head straight to the dispensers in the Dairy Building before getting in line for the fan-favorite white and chocolate milk.

Officials say they hope this new token system will help speed up the lines.
