Cayuga County Residents Charged With Welfare Fraud

Two Cayuga County residents have been nabbed on Welfare Fraud charges after a two year investigation.

The DA's office says 30 year old Rhea Peck and 33 year old Patrick Stolter have been charged with felonies after it's alleged they took in more than $15,000 in welfare benefits they weren't entitled to. Investigators say Peck failed to inform Social Services of about $30,000 she had earned from the sale of gold earlier this year.

Police are still investigating on how she got a hold of that much gold. Stolter was also accused of using Peck's SNAP card  on multiple occasions, along with her PIN number.
