NYC Man Charged With Ramming Onondaga Deputy's Patrol car

A close call for one Onondaga County Sheriffs Deputy this morning when his patrol car was intentionally rammed.

Deputies say the officer was on routine patrol this morning on the West Seneca Turnpike when the deputy tried to pull over a driver in a traffic stop. That's when 31 year old Orlando Rodriguez of The Bronx refused to pull over.

He led the deputy on a chase onto Interstate 81. Rodriguez eventually lost control of his car and his vehicle spun around. When it did, cops say the driver intentionally rammed the deputies car  after the deputy was outside the vehicle.

Fortunately, the officer wasn't hurt.  Rodriguez has now been charged with driving under the influence of drugs, menacing and reckless driving.
