Verizon Leak May Have Exposed Millions Of Customers' Data



As many as 14 million Verizon accounts could be affected after customer information leaked online.

CNN Money reports that Verizon has confirmed the personal data of 6 million customers got leaked.  According to cybersecurity experts, the leak was caused by human error when a security setting on a server was misconfigured.  The error exposed customer phone numbers, names and even some PIN numbers used to confirm customer identities. The leak was discovered June 13 and was closed June 22.
