Four Victims Named on Fatal Route 81 Crash in Sandy Creek

Sandy Creek, N.Y. – The victims in a deadly crash on Interstate 81 between Pulaski and Sandy Creek last night have been named.

Troopers say that Charles Howard of Watertown was driving a milk tanker when he jackknifed after swerving to avoid striking a deer on the highway at 11:38 p.m. Thursday.

Corey Moore, from Canton, was driving a 2002 Mercury Sable and couldn’t avoid the jackknifed trailer. Investigators say his station waggon passed completely under the tanker killing himself and his passengers Gregg Williams, 58 from De Kalb Junction; and Roderick Cota, 63 from Norwood; instantly as the top of the car was torn off. Moments later a similar situation happened to another sedan driven by Moon John Kim from Ellicott City, Maryland. Kim was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say that Howard wasn’t hurt in the crash and their investigation is continuing.
